The Nashville Symphony Fashion Show
This year I have been fortunate to have several "firsts" (more to come on that at a later date). This particular event was no exception - and I could not have been more excited to attend. The Nashville Symphony Fashion show was easily one of the most elegant events that I have attended in a long time. From beginning to end - no details was left undone.
When I entered the veranda outside of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, I was pleasantly surprised. Refined decor, fashion forward attendees, great conversation, sprinkled with a few familiar faces which was a great addition to the evening. Following the pre-show reception, we were escorted to our seats in the great hall. It was amazing to see how they transformed the space to fit the needs of the fashion show - and a show it was. This year the featured designer was none other than Jason Wu, and though I am not as adept in the world of women's fashion, I first came to know him through the dresses that Michelle Obama wore at both Inaugural Balls and have been a fan since. Any men's style enthusiast will always appreciate a well dressed woman and they were everywhere - from the runway to the seats. Another highlight of the event included a performance by Little Big Town. Their song "Better Man" that finished the show was simply amazing; it was a great touch to end the evening.
If you're anything like me, you have a myriad of events that you could attend on any given night. In that, we, unfortunately, must be selective in what we attend many times. This event's cause made the night well worth it for me. The proceeds of this event go towards the Nashville Symphony Orchestra's education and engagement programs. In particular, Accelerando is a program that is "designed to prepare gifted young students of diverse backgrounds to pursue music at the collegiate level and beyond." This only added to the magic of the evening as music education is a cause that is near to my heart, especially since founding the Flossye J. Bass Foundation for the Arts with my brothers a few years back. The Symphony reports that these programs reach 60,000 adult and children annually. Knowing this, I most definitely will be in attendance again.
Take a moment to check a few of my favorite looks from the show as well as some captures from the receptions during the night. All photos courtesy of Christy Hunter of Authentic Photos and Designs - check her out while you're at it.
Bonus: I was able to wear my Indochino suit from earlier posts! It looked great with this turtle neck and my black Del Toro slippers (not pictured).
