Success is a Lifestyle
In 2016, I had the honor of presenting at the University of Akron's Annual Black Male Summit. At that event, I met Josué 'JQ' Quiñones through a mutual friend, and when I got a chance to connect with him, I quickly learned that he has a powerful message that deserves to be shared.
The term success and discussions surrounding it are all the buzz right now. Everyone wants to define it, bottle it up for their use, and tell everyone else what it should look like. I would be lying if I said that success was not on my mind frequently. I, too, want to achieve success and I have to remind myself that that is not what life is about.
To that end, I find it refreshing how JQ takes a bit of a different approach to the idea of success and states that, "Success is not just about what you do. It's about how you think, how you live, and who you surround yourself with." This resonated with me because this approach to success causes one to think about how they are reaching that destination rather than to focus on the destination itself.
In that, I am happy to partner with him and stand with him as he inspires others to "take control of their stories, achieve success, and make it their lifestyle."
